Be the Helping Hand

"In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us."
Flora Edwards

The thought above is full of wisdom; no doubt the peace of mind and serenity you get from helping others is second to none. It is most often observed that people are hesitant towards helping others just due to the fact they don’t know them. This is not the right thing to do morally, ethically and religiously. All of the religions place great emphasis on helping your fellow human beings. In Islam, helping others is not only and important virtue but also a profound act of worship. Eventually this act of righteousness would promote peace on Earth and make it a better place to live. If you choose to help others, Allah would shower his infinite blessings and mercy upon us as:

Abû Hurayrah relates that Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever removes one of the hardships of a believing soul, Allah will remove from him one of the distresses on the Hereafter. Whoever solves someone else's problem, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the Hereafter… Allah is ever assisting His servant as long as that servant is helping his brother.” [Sahîh Muslim (4867)]

Hence, you would surely notice that by solving other people’s problems, you would be able to soften hearts and establish harmony. There are abundant examples of people helping each other in the hour of their need, but unfortunately some of us do not take heed. Your fellow Pakistanis are suffering from a great catastrophe in the form of flood, there are million of people out their waiting for help. Now is the time to remove the differences and be a helping hand, contribute in any possible manner you can. Be a positive Pakistani !
